Standard DAM Session Methods

The methods listed here are standard methods of DAM session objects. DAM session objects enable you to log on to an SQL database and then send SQL commands to the server using an DAM statement object.

$begin $begin() Begin a session transaction
$clear $clear() Clear all statements
$coltext $coltext(vVarRef) Returns a SQL text description of the pVarRef parameter for use in a SQL statement
$commit $commit() Commit session transaction
$createnames $createnames(vTableDef [,bNullInfo,bPrimaryKeys]) Return a text string defining the columns and types to be used in a SQL CREATE TABLE statement.
$insertnames $insertnames(wRowRef) Return a text string which is a comma delimited list specifiying the columns to be used in SQL INSERT statement.
$logoff $logoff() Drop connection to server
$logon $logon(cHostname, cUsername, cPassword [,cSessionName]) Connect session to server
$makeschema $makeschema(rSchema, cTableName) makes a schema from a server table
$nextnativeerror $nextnativeerror() Retrieve next native session error
$rollback $rollback() Rollback session transaction
$rpcdefine $rpcdefine(cRpcName, lParamList) defines a remote procedure
$selectnames $selectnames(vTableDef [,cTableName]) Return a text string defining the columns to be used in a SQL SELECT statement
$updatenames $updatenames(wRowRef) Return a text string which is used in SQL UPDATE statement.
$wherenames $wherenames(wRowRef [,cTableName, cComparison, cOperator]) Return a text string which is used in SQL WHERE clause.
