Omnis on GitHub and Testing your Apps at Omnis Developer Conference

We are delighted to announce that Alex Clay will be speaking at the Omnis Developer Conference in Boston, MA, March 8 – 9, about two very hot topics that will be of great interest to all Omnis developers, old and new! Alex will talk about how you can share and use Omnis projects on GitHub, the world’s premier site for sharing code: Omnis Software has created a repo on GitHub recently, and many other developers have shared libraries on GitHub, so this is a very important development for Omnis. In addition, Alex will talk about how you can add automated testing to both new and existing code with OmnisTAP, which is his own suite of testing tools and something he has shared freely on GitHub.
Alex is an experienced Omnis developer working for Suran Systems, the developer of CDM+ Church Management Software and DonorWorks Constituent Management Software. Alex started coding with Omnis Studio and ported Suran’s existing Omnis 7-based software to Omnis Studio, and now manages a team of 5 software developers, 3 of which are full-time Omnis developers. In 2009 Alex introduced Agile software management and test-driven development to Suran. He developed the OmnisTAP unit-testing framework for Omnis Studio and lead Suran’s development team through a transformation into the world of sprints, test harnesses, continuous integration, and clean code.
