most of the keyboards provide light with the capslock button. the purpose of this light is when the capslock is on the light will turn on, and it will turn off when the capslock is off. but if your keyboard is not showing any sign then I suggest you change your keyboard and get a new and updated one. most writers use these kinda keyboard with light cause that help them a lot in writing to know whether the capslock is on or not

On Windows platform you can use:

Register DLL (‘user32′,’GetKeyState’,’JJ’)
Call DLL (‘user32′,’GetKeyState’,20) Returns lCapsLock
If lCapsLock
OK message {Caps Lock pressed}
End If
